Question

Why would turbotax not recognize or accept the fact that on my 1099-int form boxes 15 and 17 were blank?

Review the 1099-INT screen and your entries.  Be sure to use the delete key on each of those boxes.  You may want to use the link below to clear cache and cookies.  It cleans up pieces of data that you think you have removed.  It works for me so many times.

Close your TurboTax return before you perform this process.  You can choose to delete your 1099-INT and then re-enter after the clearing process.
