I setup to pay my federal taxes by credit card. My e file was rejected do to AGI mismatch. I couldn’t get it cleared, so I had to switch to mail in option. My question is will my federal

taxes still be paid or should I mail in a check or pay on irs site. I just don’t want to be double charged.

If your tax return was rejected, your tax payment will not be paid. You can either mail a check with Form 1040-V or make the payment directly on the IRS payment site by clicking here. Please see the below TurboTax Help Article for more information.

If you can get the file submitted by the due date and the intent is to have your account debited then you have paid your taxes. they can't debit your account before accepting your return.  And can't penalize you for their delay in processing.

Pretty sure it's still that way.
