Will I be able to claim a stimulus payment for new dependents? I have 2 new dependents this year and the tool is not allowing me to claim the additional $1,000.

In 2019 I had 0 dependents. I now have 2 minor children. I only received $1,200 for myself. The tool is telling me I have received what I was entitled to, but I did not receive the $500 for each child.

If the dependents are age 17 or older in 2020 they are not eligible for the economic impact payment.

If they are under the age of 17 then make sure that you have entered them as dependent properly in the My Info section.

Verify their dates of birth, make sure that you indicated that they are your children, make sure that you indicated they lived in your home for over 6 months, make sure that you indicated that they did NOT provide over one-half of their own support, make sure that you did Not indicate another person lived in your home who also provided to their support.
