Will I be assessed a late penalty if I filed my tax return one hour late electronically?

That depends:

1)  If you are going to get a refund...usually that's a No.

2) If you owed the IRS some more $$, then Yes.  You pay what you were supposed to, and then the IRS will bill you later for whatever penalty they assess.
