If you are an Independent Contractor, you are Self-Employed.

If you are Self-Employed, you file Schedule C with your 1040 and claim your income and expenses.

You do not need to receive a 1099-NEC to report income, it can be reported as "Other, such as cash" in the TurboTax programs.

If you have the business set-up from last year and you are using TurboTax Home & Business, start in the business section.

If not, enter under

Income,

Business Items,

Business Income and Expenses (Sch C) and go from there.
