Question

Will my return be rejected if my ID expired less than 7 days ago?

Just as above, will my return be rejected if the ID has expired less than a week ago! I'm worried it will take too long to get another one

The IRS does not require you to enter drivers license information to e-file.   It is an extra layer of security for you but you are allowed to skip that step if you want to.   There are a few states that get pretty picky about driver license or state ID's, so if your state is a problem you might have to file the state by mail.
