No.  You should be receiving a Form 1099-G from the state of Georgia for your unemployment compensation received in 2020.  The form will also include any taxes that were withheld from the unemployment.

You enter the Form 1099-G in the Unemployment section of the program.

To enter unemployment compensation

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Under Unemployment
  • On Unemployment and Paid Family Leave, click the start or update button

Or enter unemployment compensation in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to unemployment compensation

Automatically?  No.  When you enter your 1099G you will need to go through the screens carefully and enter your 1099G manually--it cannot be imported.  And you will have to read the screens carefully to enter the tax that was withheld from the unemployment.

Unemployment compensation is taxable on your federal return.  Enter your 1099G for unemployment in Federal>Wages and Income>Unemployment

You might need to get your 1099G from the state’s unemployment site.
