I'm not sure why you are getting that error message. A work-around solution would be to enter the qualified dividends as one dollar less than the ordinary dividends.
In the desktop version of TurboTax a simple way to delete the 1099-DIV entry would be to use the Forms menu option to retrieve the Form 1099-DIV. You will see an option to delete the form at the bottom of the screen.
Thanks. After I replied to your previous message, I went into the forme option and found that the ordinary dividends had imported incorrectly--they we're 10¢ short. It rounds to the same amount on the return so we couldn't see it there. That and the error message simply states something to the effect, "Ordinary dividends equal qualified dividends."
I corrected the Ordinary dividends on the 1099-DIV and we were able to submit the return using e-file. The return has been accepted so we're done for the year.
