Would I have been notified if I owed my federal income tax return for 2019

If you have not filed a tax return yet, you will not be notified that owe tax until you file.

 

If you owe for 2019 and you do not file, the IRS will send you a letter eventually, but it will take at least a few months. These letters usually start going out toward the end of the year.
