Question

I had three Ontario staycations last year at AirBnBs. None of them charged taxes. Can I still claim the Ontario Staycation credit?

    You cannot claim Ontario Staycation Tax Credit as you are not charged taxes. According to Ontario Staycation Tax Credit, to be eligible to claim the expenses, you must keep your detailed receipts for any eligible expenses you claim for the credit. Those receipts must include the amount of any GST/HST paid. The detailed receipt should be provided by the supplier registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).
