Whe will Turbotax have the 2023 tax returns available to fill out?

TurboTax software for the 2023 tax year will be available on December 18, 2023. Remember, you will not be able to NetFile or print your return until NetFile opens on February 19, 2024.

In addition, CRA's NetFile transmission service will be unavailable from January 27, 2024 to February 18, 2024.

I’m trying to complete my 2023 taxes but all my 2022 info is being used. I’ve already filed my 2022 return. Why doesn’t turbo have 2023 available?

why is the 2023 Canadian Turbo tax online addition so late, it does not allow enough time for planning and projections of tax return if released on Dec 18th

The deadline for most Canadians to file this return is Tuesday April 30, 2024.

If you or your spouse or common-law partner are self-employed, you have until June 15, 2024, to file on time. Filing your return before the respective deadline will allow you to avoid interruptions to any benefit or credit payments you may be entitled to.

If you have a balance owing, your payment is due on April 30, 2024. Your payment will be considered on time if the CRA receives it, or a Canadian financial institution processes it, on or before May 1, 2024.

Also, please note that T4 and T4A slips must be distributed, and T4 and T4A returns must be filed, on or before the last day of February following the calendar year to which the slips apply. If the last day of February falls on a Saturday or Sunday or public holiday, the tax slips and returns are considered on time if postmarked on the next business day.
