Question

My spouse has not filed her 2024 tax return and won't be until later in the year because she is an independent contractor so what do I put as her net income etc.?

She has a t4 for 2024 but not a 2024 federal tax return, so how do I fill out info from "line 23400" and "line 23500?"

    You can put in an estimate for now and then enter the correct amount before you file.

     

    Line 23400 less Line 23500 equals Line 23600. So, if your spouse didn't have any social benefit repayments, then Line 23400 is the same as Line 23600. Line 23400 is not on the detailed summary; you will see it on your T1.
