Why did Turbo Tax indicate an expected refund for a very simple return that was less than a third of what the CRA ended up assessing it at?

We had a very simple tax return, so nothing complicated or unusual. We did upgrade to the first level though for a little extra support. What Turbo Tax calculated for the refund was less than a third of what the CRA assessed it as and gave us.
