Home Loans after Divorce

My ex-husband and I divorced 10 years ago and he was awarded the home. The home is still on my credit report, even though i don’t legally own it. I’ve also signed a quick claim deed. My exhusband also will not refinance it. How do I get this mortgage off my credit report?

The quit claim deed only transferred the home ownership

Until the bank absolves you of the debt , it will be on your credit report. Think of if this way, if the ex defaults on the mortgage, are you legally liable?

The way to get it off your credit report is for ex to refi the loan or (and the is unlikely) get the Bank to absolve you in writing (warning: they have no incentive)

He hasn’t paid the mortgage in 8 years and it changes mortgage companies every year, so it’s hard to track down who owns it when. Every time i make traction with one mortgage company it gets sold to another. My credit had been in the toilet, with no relief in site because it never makes it to foreclosure before being sold again.

I know, not helpful, but there may be a glimmer of hope if I can find a mortgage company to take pitty on me.

    Thank You!
