Do I have to claim capital gains on my principal residence if I rented half of my home out for the first of two years I owned it?

I owned my principal residence from 2020-2022 and rented half of it for one year (2020-2021). Do I need to pay capital gains on the sale when I only rented it for 1 year and was not renting it out at all in 2022 when I sold it?

Yes. If you were renting out all or part of the home, you may have a taxable capital gain.
