Question

I'm a Canadian Citizen who is now deemed non-resident of Canada. I live and work in the USA. How do I file taxes in Canada?

Reason for filing is so my wife continues to receive Canada child benefit (CCB). I believe we still need to file jointly to qualify for CCB.

    To clarify on how to file your taxes to allow your wife to still claim the CCB, please contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) at 1-800-959-8281. The CRA will need additional information to verify the CCB eligibility.
