My spouse & I have different income types. We both have employment, rental & investment income, but he has self-employment income too. Do we have to buy the same package?

In other words, can I choose a different product for him than for me and still declare jointly? Ex. I would get turbotax «investments and rental property» for myself and «personal and business income and expenses» for him?

Yes, unless you choose to prepare the returns separately in different versions, you will be paying for the same package/version if you are preparing a joint return.
