Question

Sold my condo last year. For the previous two years it was a rental property, not my primary residence. Do I need to include any details of the sale?

Had been my primary residence for 7 years. Purchased in 2016. Rented for two years (2022-2024). Sold in 2024

If your home was not your principal residence for every year that you owned it, you have to report the part of the capital gain on the property that relates to the years for which you did not designate the property as your principal residence.

List the dispositions of all your rental properties on Schedule 3, Capital Gains (or Losses)

    Selling your rental property

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
