I am trying to enter a second 1099 for Unemployment Income. I enter the info and in box 1 it says rent and on the next page it says what type of rental income. I need it to not say rental income. its giving me no other choice.

Use these steps to go to the correct section of your return to enter your unemployment reported on Form 1099-G:

    • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)

    • This opens a box where you can type in “unemployment compensation” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here, including the dash) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)

    • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to unemployment compensation

    • Click on the blue “Jump to unemployment compensation” link

Make sure you are in the section of TurboTax for entering a 1099-G, not a 1099-MISC.
