i entered my 1099 B manually and it says Box D is checked on form 8949  how do i enter that?

You do not have to enter anything.  The 8949 is automatic. 

 

You recorded this in the  "Sales section" when you posted the transaction.  You selected Long-term reported to IRS (covered)

 

Code D. This code indicates a long-term transaction for which the cost or other basis is being reported to the IRS. Use this code to report a transaction that the recipient will report on Schedule D (Form 1040), line 8a, or on Form 8949 with box D checked with totals being carried to Schedule D (Form 1040), line 8b.

 

Form 8949 is used to reconcile amounts that were reported to you and the IRS on Form 1099-B with the amounts you report on your return. The subtotals from this form will then be carried over to Schedule D (Form 1040), where gain or loss will be calculated in aggregate.
