2021 Turbo tax return accidentally deleted in my designated folders.

The shock of shocks it was. Poked around in readings for similar situations. Found a suggestion search computer for .tax2021. Couldn't believe a copy was in Documents/Turbo Tax. I didn't put it there, I never do it that way, and the name the 2021 TT file had been given was nothing I would ever use.

TT can't transfer previous year's return info using 1099 pdfs, right?

How did that return get to Documents./Turbo Tax? This something new?

No. The default location for the program tax file is Documents/TurboTax. But that file is used to open the return in the TurboTax program. You can’t read it. After you make a pdf file you can name and save that file anywhere you wish.

Turbotax looks for the .tax2021 file to transfer information to 2022.
