Question

Anyone know the state identification number for Rhode Island for Vanguard Marketing Corp (Vanguard) ? trying to fill out a stock sale. Thanks.

required when you review your transactions, I don't have anything withheld but turbo tax still wants to know and vanguard says check with the state

At the free VITA tax preparation sites, we are instructed to enter 999999 (six digits) when the state ID is blank.  These sites, however, use TaxSlayer and not TurboTax.

Thanks.  It would be nice if TT would check these things before they "require" them !

To obtain the state ID number, please contact Vanguard as they will have that.
