Question

Bug? Math error in T-Tax 1099B Wash sale calc. Have 4 stocks w/disallowed $. Gross$ invest summary= + gain when it's a loss.Turbo gain/loss doesn't =my 1099B gain/loss.

your statement is not clear. can you give an example of the a line on the 1099-B shows all columns

 

 

 

and then what Turbotax is showing for the same transaction. 

 

maybe this will help. if you sell at a loss and within 31 day s before or after the sale you buy substantially identical securities (SIS), the loss is disallowed and gets added to the tax basis of the SIS.

"Math error in T-Tax 1099B"

 

When importing, TuroTax doesn't do any math on transactions. It takes the amounts shown verbatim .

If you are entering manually you should do the same.

 

It has always been advisable to check the import results because occasionally discrepancies  will arise.
