Can I add my 1099-DIV section 2a amount to my capital loss carryover?

Why was 1099-DIV section 2a amount added to my capital loss carryover? Turbo tax added that amount to with my $3000 carry over-is this correct?

2a on 1099-div is for long-term capital gain distributions which are treated the same as if you had sold a stock you help long-term at a gain

if you enter an amount on form 1099-Div box 2a Turbotax carries it to schedule D line 13. do not renter.
