Can I apply the garage I rented to my rideshare business expenses?

I operated a rideshare business for four months of 2024. During that timeframe, I rented a garage for the car that I used for rideshare driving. Can I include the cost of the garage rental in my personal business expenses? Thank you!

    It depends.

     

    You can deduct garage rent as a business expense if you choose to use the actual cost for deducting vehicle expenses.

     

    If you use the standard mileage deduction, you can't deduct garage rent on top of the standard mileage rate.
