Can I continue to use the Deluxe version for my filling or do I need to move up to Premier? I have 1 investment account that gets capital gains and dividends.

I've used Deluxe the past 2 years and it seemed to handle the gains okay, but this year I should have a loss and a carry-over. Will Deluxe handle this or should I move to Premier??

You need Online Premier for investments. But you can use the Desktop Deluxe version. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions. If you had a gain last year you should have needed Premier. Was it was sales? Did you get a 1099B?

@jmcgaughan as noted, you can use Deluxe to handle gains / losses / carryforwards..... it's not a problem. there is no requirement that you have to upgrade to Premier
