I am converting a home I lived in for many years into an Airbnb rental.  Obviously it will be furnished.  Some of the furnishings were there but some were purchased in preparation for starting the Airbnb.  Like beds, dressers, couches, dinning room table, washer & dryer, bed linens, comforters, blankets, TV, pictures for decorations etc.  Can I add any of these as an asset to be depreciated?

Thank you in advance for your time.  It is greatly appreciated.

Items with an expected useful life of longer than a year can be entered as Assets to be depreciated.  From the list you supplied, the furniture and appliances would qualify.  Other items with a shorter useful life such as the linens could be deducted as an expense instead of being depreciated.
