Question

Capital gains and losses are being shown under Federal total in State as $ 3658 while I have a loss of $652, I do not know how this $3658 came ?

A number was populated under VA Long Term Capital Gains under State Tax filing (Virginia): Turbotax is saying, we see you currently have 6,179 of federally taxable LT gains. I do not have such gains any where. I do not understand. 😞

    i am going to assume you are filing nonresident to be able to see the numbers in the manner described. I traced the capital gains back to the NR allocation which traces back to the federal 1040, line6.

     

    Are you using the online or desktop version? In the federal entry, did you have any exceptions marked for VA?
