Capital loss in excess of $3000 not included in carryover for this year

My capital losses in 2024 were $18,128 but TurboTax is indicating a carryover for next year of less than $900. Why is that?

    If the carryforward amount to 2025 is only $900, then the other losses generated in 2024 were most likely used to offset gains also reported on your return.  Take a closer look at your Schedule D to see if that is the case.
