  • Capital Gain or Loss from
    Assets Acquired After
    December 31, 2011

Received from T Rowe Price 1099-DIV

  • Showing 6k+ Gain, long term...but I've no clue what # to use in the box as I've sold nothing,  it's just whatever dividends the 2 funds paid through the year. I've had the funds since probably 2009 or so.  Can't leave box empty so need to know what/ how to fill it out to move on.

I called TRowe asking for dates or numbers / values anything and the guy had no answers for me

enter the box 2a amount from 1099-DIV.

That's all there is. everything else is automatic.

    (See Schedule D LIne 13)

Interesting...but if that was the case, why doesn't it automatically fill in that box?

The enter the portion of gain or loss...

In my case a gain but....

I don't have a clue what assets were acquired  after 12/31/2011

And the online Turbo tax program isn't showing me forms like the old CD versions do, unless I'm not seeing that option

Double-check that this capital gain is being entered only in the area for 1099-DIV, Box 2a.  If this number is being reported elsewhere - either on your form from T Rowe Price or otherwise, please let us know and we can assist further.
