Changing name of Rental Property
I currently own a 2-family home and am occupying 1 unit (Apt 1) and renting the other unit (Apt 2).
In the last 2 years my tax preparer did not list down the apt number of the rental, so the name of the rental in schedule E (and other schedules) does not include the apt number.
However, this year I am thinking of including the apt number. Since the name of the rental does not correspond with the name used in the previous year, would this be a red flag and cause issues for my returns?
