Clothes Dryer purchased for rental property can this be deducted on schedule e

purchased a new clothes dryer for our (1) residential rental property.  Dryer will be used exclusively at the rental property; how to claim deduction for purchase of this appliance?  Would this be claimed as a "repair" deduction; total cost $650.

    No, the clothes dryer would be entered as an Appliance asset.

    As mentioned by DoninGA, the dryer could be entered as an Asset for your property and would be depreciated.  

     

    However, you can choose to deduct the cost of the dryer in full under the Safe Harbor election.  If you choose to use Safe Harbor, do not enter the dryer in the Depreciation section.
