Day care service

I provide daycare for my grandchild who lives over 62 miles away. I drive this 3 days a week. My son and daughter-in-law do not pay me for that care. Are any of my time, travel costs and materials used to provide activities tax deductible? If so, what can be deducted and where, in Turbotax, does it get provided?

Sorry---no, none of the costs for driving to take care of your grandchild are deductible on your tax return.  You are being a kind and generous grandparent.   Perhaps the parents of the grandchild need to start helping with the cost of gas for the free child care they are receiving.
