Turbo tax gave a total of the total stock sales. They did not tell me whether that was for short term or long term sales. Now they asking me whether I have more sales to report. I don't know what they are doing. Please advise.

These sales will be separated on your Schedule D. Short-term transactions will be in Part I, and long-term transactions will be in Part II. Here's how to look at the forms in TurboTax:

    • In the left-hand menu bar, click on Tax Tools, then click Tools.
    • Under Other helpful links, click View Tax Summary.
    • Your Tax Summary will be displayed. In the left-hand menu bar, you will see a new option: Preview My 1040. Click it, and this will allow you to see the forms.

Regarding the question about more sales to report, the software is just trying to determine if you have more sales in addition to what you have already reported.
