Do I need to wait for my 1099-B before I file if I know my cost basis and gains from the previous year?

Yes, you should wait for your 1099-B.  If you do not and there is a discrepancy, you will have to amend your tax return.

There may be some broker fees or misc. fees you might not be thinking of.

Thanks TurboTaxSharonC!  I have added my cost basis (net loss of $20) to my existing return and it hasn't affected my $ return at all.  Do you think it still best to wait for the 1099-B
