Do we claim a stock buyback that we took this year it is a private company they so it was up to us to put it in our taxes all we have is a check stub how do we claim this

Go to FEDERAL > WAGES & INCOME > Stocks Bonds Mutual Funds Other and Start or Revisit.

You will enter some Basic Info about the Stock and how you received it  (see screenshot). You don't need a 1099 to report this. 

Enter your Cost Basis to determine whether you had a Gain or Loss and whether is it Short-Term or Long-Term. 

This is pretty much all the IRS wants to know!
