Election to Aggregate Rental Real Estate Activities on Turbo Tax

Hi,

I plan to mail out my Election to Aggregate Rental Real Estate Activities to IRS. Can you please help me understand if I have to check any box or make any selection on Turbotax to aggregate rental activities as well? Or I just separately fill out info for each property like usual and mail out my election?

Thanks so much

When using TurboTax, you don't need to check any specific box or make any selection to aggregate your rental activities. You should fill out the information for each property separately as usual. The election to aggregate rental real estate activities is made by filing a statement with your original income tax return for the tax year. This statement should declare that you are a qualifying taxpayer and that you are making the election under Section 469(c)(7)(A).

Once you have prepared your tax return, you will need to mail the election statement along with your return to the IRS. TurboTax does not currently support making this election electronically, so you will need to handle this part manually.
