Enter Prior Year Roth IRA Contributions

I entered my information for my Roth IRA contributions for the year 2024, which was the max at $7000.

Then I was asked to enter any previous year Roth IRA contributions. I opened the Roth IRA in the year 2024, but I did contribute money toward the 2023 contribution limit within the year 2024, before 4/15/24.

So is the question asking me to submit what my contributions were if I contributed prior to the year 2024 (which would be zero for me, since I contributed to 2023's number in 2024)? Or is it asking me for the amount I contributed toward the 2023 limit, even if it was in the year 2024 (which would be the max $6500)?

Thanks!

If you are referring to the "Enter Prior Year Roth IRA Contributions" where you enter your net contributions prior to 2024 then you would include the contribution for 2023. This question is tracking your net Roth IRA contributions. You will enter $6,500.
