Filing 1099 MISC form for employee truck rental

I get paid truck rent weekly from my employer and received a 1099-MISC form. How do I report this rent as "income" and offset the income by using the standard IRS mileage deduction?

First, you will want to enter your 1099-MISC, and then deduct your qualified business expenses.

To enter a 1099-MISC, follow the steps below:

To enter your business expenses, follow the steps below:

  • Sign into your TurboTax account and click Continue where I left off
  • Choose Federal Taxes
  • On the Income and Expenses Tab, click Edit to the right of your Self Employment Income 
  • Click Edit next to your line of work
  • scroll down to the Expenses section and click Add Expenses
