Getting Taxed in Maryland For Property Sales Gain Made in Las Vegas

In 2021 I sold a rental property in Las Vegas, NV, and made a gain and I'm a resident of California.  I'm using TT Premier for desktop.  I'm using an iMAC.  I have other rental properties in Maryland and Arizona.  Why does TT show that I should be paying taxes on the gain both in Maryland and California? (and not Arizona)  It attaches Ca. Form S (Other State Credit) showing that I'm paying Maryland for the capital gain made from the sale in Las Vegas.  I tried to just delete Ca. Form S within the Easy Step Interview, to no avail; Ca. Form S still appears.  How can I make TT understand that the property sold was in Las Vegas and not Maryland?

If you are unable to delete Schedule S it means TurboTax is pulling data from some place. Delete should work.

Try changing the state in the Other State Tax Credit Summary to "blank",

    1. Select Edit next to MD
    2. On Other State Tax Credit, change Maryland to Not Applicable
    3. Tap Back to Other State Tax Credit Summary and try deleting again

You can also tap Forms and try deleting Schedule S from the Forms mode.

Thanks!  After working on my Maryland taxes and inputting that all of the capital gain was non-Maryland, my tax liability for Maryland fell to 0.  When this happened I was able to go to Forms at the top and Delete Form S and voila, it's gone.  Now I'm trying to get rid of another sticky Form, Arizona Form 309, Credit for Taxes Paid to Another State or Country.  I'll use the same strategy -- complete my California return and then see if I can delete the Arizona Form 309.
