home equity loan

I paid off a home equity loan in 2019.  I paid less than $600 in interest so did not receive a 1098.  Turbo Tax will not accept a $0 entry in outstanding balance box.

    Your outstanding balance is the amount that you owed January 1, 2019.  Since you made payments in 2019, you would have had a balance at the beginning of the year.  See IRS Instructions for Form 1098 for more information.
