Yes, in general, Iowa Homeowners Associations (HOAs) are required to file state tax returns. Here are the key points:

    Filing Requirements

    1. Corporate Entity: Any corporate entity organized under Iowa law or doing business in Iowa must file a state tax return.
    2. Federal Filing: If your HOA files federal Form 1120 or 1120-H, it must also file an Iowa state tax return,

For more detailed information, you can refer to the Iowa HOA Tax Filing Guide.

Thank you for your reply.  Which Iowa form needs to be filed?  Can I use TurboTax to complete the form?

If you are required to file a federal Form 1120 or 1120-H, then you would need to file Iowa form IA 1120. You can file that return using the TurboTax Business product only if you are filing a federal form 1120.
