How come on my tax form the only income listed is my small oil royalty income? What about Soc. Sec. Income?

Does not my Soc. Security Income get added under income on my tax form?

It may be because your Social Security isn't taxable, due to your Income.  Social Security Benefits are not taxable if you file a:

 

  • Federal tax return as an “individual” and your “combined income” is $25,000 or less.
  • Joint return, and you and your spouse have “combined income” is $32,000 or less.

NOTE: “Combined income” includes your adjusted gross income, tax-exempt interest income and half of your Social Security benefits.

 

If your only income other than Social Security is a small amount of royalties, your Social security Benefits would not be taxable.
