Question

How do I get the rental properties section removed on 'your income and expenses'. I had used this section in previous years, but it no longer applies to me.

If you are using TurboTax Online, open your return and go to the Income topic.

    1. On the "Your Income and Expenses" page, click Start beside Rental Properties and Royalties.
    2. On the page "Your 20XX rentals and royalties summary," click the trashcan icon beside the rental property you no longer wish to include on your return.
    3. Confirm the deletion and continue on with your return.

In TurboTax for Desktop, go to Federal Taxes >> Wages & Income.

    1. If you see the question "Did these still apply in 20XX?" check the "No" button beside the Schedule E item you no longer need.
    2. Otherwise, from the Income Summary page, update the Rental Properties topic and continue to the Rental and Royalty Summary page.
    3. Click Delete beside the property you need to remove.
    4. You also have the option to delete Schedule E and all related forms using Forms Mode (icon in TurboTax header). The Delete Form button appears at the bottom of an open form.
