Question

How do I report WeBull free stocks that I sold last year?

Hello TurboTax Community,

Last year I got 3 free stocks from WeBull that I sold,

now that I'm doing my taxes I have them in a "needs review" status.

All of the 3 transactions show up on WeBull 1099 Consolidated form (1099 B) and of course the cost basis on this document is 0.

If I edit every transaction and put 0$ as cost basis or select "I received it as a gift" and click continue it goes back to the previous menu and all the 3 transactions are still in "needs review" status.

How can I fix this?

Thank you!

I suggest you delete the three Webull 1099-B forms, clear your cookies and your cache, then re-enter them.

  • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
  • If you're using TurboTax CD\Download software and need to delete a form, click here

Hello Helen,

I did everything you mentioned but the transactions were still on "needs review".

I then contacted an agent (this automatically put me another tier/package which I ended up paying more) only for me to figure out the solution myself.

I simply chose the option "not make any changes to the cost basis right now" and left it to 0 and the "needs review" status was gone.
