On the Your Property Assets page on the Wage & Income Section for my rental house, it has a NOTE: Earlier you told us that you sold (disposed of your Single Family Dwelling.  Be sure to enter your sales information in this section so we can calculate your capital gains or loss.

I sold this property during 2016 and marked the appropriate box noting as such.  However, I am unable to locate where to "enter the sales information in this section".

I was provided an Alternative Form 1099-S for tax year 2016.

Where do I go to enter this information and calculate my capital loss?

Form 1099 S is entered in the Less Common Income section of Turbo Tax.

• Select Federal Taxes
• Select Wages and Income
• Scroll down and select Show More at Less Common Income
• Select Start at Sale of Home

The program will prompt you on how to handle if this home was not your primary residence.
