How to input previous year passive activity losses for rental (swithing from CPA to turbotax)

Hello,

This year we stopped using CPA and start using TurboTax. I have a rental property. I got Desktop Premier version.

I am trying to find how to manually type the previous passive activity loss in TurboTax. I could not find it in either Rental Sche E section, or later 8582 Form.

Can someone please help?

After you enter the basic data for the rentals you should be asked questions about each property's PAL for both regular tax and AMT. That's where it is entered - not directly on the 8582 which if left would prevent e-filing.

go back to the rental section and go from screen to screen until you hit the questions. if you are using a desktop version you can switch to forms mode and then on the worksheet for that property towards the bottom is the place to enter the PALthis.
