how to issue the electronically acceptable 1099-nec? then upload to FIRE system only the 1099-nec only, or with 1096 as well?

Yes, you may be able to use TurboTax Quick Employer Forms (QEF), a service we offer to customers who use the TurboTax BusinessTurboTax Premium Online, and TurboTax Home & Business Download/CD. The service allows these users to create and e-file the following forms for employees or contractors. 

  • W-2
  • 1099-MISC
  • 1099-INT
  • 1099-DIV
  • 1099-NEC

The user must purchase a current year copy of Business, Premium, or Home and Business to have access to the online functionality. The service is free to use with the purchase and may not be paid for independently of the product purchase.
