    1. You will probably enter your rental home on a Sch E. Let's determine what is correct for you.

    2. You can claim a credit for the foreign tax paid against the income on Form 1116.

The first concern is what services you provide to the renters. See Should I report my rental on Schedule E or Schedule C?

Second, there are a few differences between US and foreign properties. These are noted in About Publication 527, Residential Rental Property Including Rental of Vacation Homes.

You will not deduct property tax paid and you will depreciate the house under a different set of rules.

    Reference:

Under IRC Section 168(g)(1)(A), any tangible property that is used predominantly outside the United States during the taxable year must use the alternative depreciation system. This part of the Internal Revenue Code [Section 168(g)(2)(C)] specifies a period of 30 years
