I converted a house to rental on Feb 1 2016. I entered the MTG interest into the rental field, chose 31 days personal use, rest rental and checked non qualified interest

It is not allocating the 1 month of interest to my itemized deductions for primary residence.

Enter ZERO personal days.  It is asking for the number of personal days AFTER you converted it to a rental property.

You need to manually prorate and enter the mortgage interest and real estate taxes between your personal use and rental use.
